Scavengers are very important to the ecosystem. But what are scavengers? Scavengers are animals that eat dead and decaying plants or animals. In a way scavengers are a bit like decomposers. The world would be very messed up if scavengers weren't here on Earth. Animals can be scavengers if there is no food. A type of scavenger is a turkey vulture.
