Prerequisite: Application required; completion of Algebra 1 with a C or better.


This course will introduce students to robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as prepare students for the competitive job market of the 21st century. This course is designed for students that wish to pursue majors and careers in robotics, engineering, medicine, mechanical design, computer science and business. Students will explore robots used in NASA exploration, manufacturing, hazardous duty, fire fighting, medicine and surgery, nanotechnology, including medical "bots", and war robots. The class will also cover power, movement, motors and gears, sensors, intelligence, speech control, neural nets, video transmitters, vision and much more.
